Welcome to Whistler
Dear Guests and Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 Summer Board Meeting in one of Canada’s most spectacular destinations. Nestled in the heart of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains, Whistler provides the perfect setting to come together, reconnect, and enjoy some of the very best our province has to offer.
Our home base for the weekend is in the Delta Hotel Whistler Village Suites, in heart of Whistler Village, surrounded by mountain views, walking trails, local shops, and exceptional dining. We hope you’ll take some time to explore and enjoy everything the village has to offer.
Each year, this gathering gives us an opportunity to step away from the demands of our day-to-day businesses and spend meaningful time with fellow grocery leaders. The conversations, friendships, and ideas that emerge from these meetings are invaluable, and we are grateful to share this experience with all of you. Just as importantly, these events provide a wonderful opportunity for families from across the country to reconnect, strengthen friendships, and create new memories together in a truly special setting.
We’ll kick off the weekend on Thursday evening with a welcome reception at High Mountain Brewing Co. (Brewhouse) , just a short walk from the hotel beside the iconic Olympic Rings. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new faces, and start the weekend off together.
On Friday, the Board and AMC will gather to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing our industry, joined by several past CFIG Board members. That evening, we’ll head to Blackcomb Mountain for a scenic gondola ride to Rendezvous Lodge, where we’ll enjoy a memorable evening surrounded by breathtaking alpine views.
Saturday brings one of Whistler’s signature experiences—the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola. This remarkable journey offers unparalleled views of towering mountain peaks, coastal rainforests, and ancient glaciers, showcasing the incredible beauty of British Columbia from a truly unique perspective.
As we gather this year, our industry continues to face both challenges and opportunities. Through it all, independent grocers remain resilient, innovative, and deeply committed to the communities they serve. We look forward to the discussions, collaboration, and shared experiences that will make this another memorable and productive meeting.
Most importantly, we hope you take the time to relax, enjoy the company of friends, family and colleagues, and create lasting memories in Whistler.
Thank you for joining us. We look forward to spending the weekend together.
Warm regards,
Brian and Tanys
